It is always such a privilege to be asked to share in, and document the lives of friends. I so cherish these frames, because they show the last moments of a twosome, and the first of those when they become three. Eewan, you are so loved, and I look forward to seeing you grow in the years to come. Xx
INTRODUCING: REUBEN
Beginnings are exciting. Whether it be the beginning of a year, a relationship, a job; beginnings mark change, they hold our hopes, wishes and dreams. It's perhaps quite apt that the first blog post of the year is of a newborn; for what beginning is more beautiful than that of life.
Being asked to photograph is always an honour. However, being able to capture the precious first weeks of new life gives me goosebumps every time. I choose to photograph newborns in a family session because the beauty of a child entering the couple turned parents' lives is wondrous to watch. Reuben's parents are dear friends of mine and it is an honour for me to be able to share these frames with you. They are so precious to both them and me, and I hope you enjoy these as we have. Introducing Reuben.
OWEN TURNS ONE
The little boy you're about to meet is Owen Minho Lee. I dare you to keep a straight face while scrolling through. Not only does he have one of the most adorable smiles around, he charms all those he meets. I doubt you will be immune.
Having known his parents since they started dating, it has been amazing to watch their journey through dating, marriage, and now parenthood. I was honoured to be asked to capture the celebration of his Owen's birthday, where elements of Korean tradition were beautifully woven through the proceedings. Location: Breakfast Point Community Hall.
THE LITTLE ONE
My significant other is an Adelaide boy, which means we try to visit as often as we can to spend time with family there. The resulting four or five days are filled with constant laughter, and largely due to this little one. The whole family can sit around for hours and be endlessly entertained by the antics of little Lois, who we can't get enough of. In anticipation of our next Adelaide visit, I pulled a few shots from our visit a few months ago. Isn't she the cutest?
